Our church has a deep love and compassion for our neighbors!
We provide quality community events and celebrations, and can often be found handing out Halloween pumpkins, Christmas cookies or hot coffee on a cold day. Our partner organizations give us the opportunity to help them provide the most basic of needs – food for the hungry. Our volunteers at the New York City Rescue Mission and Father’s Heart Ministries serve meals and groceries to the hungry on a regular basis.
A group of LMCC volunteers ages 14 and up serve at Father’s Heart Ministries the third Saturday each month. Father’s Heart operates a hunger prevention program on Manhattan’s Lower East Side that includes a soup kitchen and food pantry. Each week approximately 700 people or more are fed an all-you-can-eat hot breakfast in a restaurant-style setting and receive a food pantry bag that contains at least 9 meals.
New York City Rescue Mission
The New York City Rescue Mission is a unique place, serving meals, including more than 250 dinners, seven days a week to our neighbors. On the first Thursday of every month, the men of LMCC get the opportunity to serve meals to food insecure men & women of Lower Manhattan.
