Church doesn’t happen just on Sundays. The church is sometimes called a fellowship, or a network of relationships. We all need to give and to receive love, to live and grow together, to belong to a community that encourages and helps each other during times of need.
Part of being in a church family is service, both internally within the church and externally in our greater community. Scripture tells us that the way to attain faith and knowledge is through ministry, and that we are to use the gifts we’ve been given to serve each other. LMCC has several volunteer-led teams dedicated to building relationships and meeting needs both within our church and outside. We encourage everyone who considers LMCC their church home to serve on one or more of these teams. Choosing the right one for you means considering the time commitment, your skills and experience, and most importantly, your passion.
The LMCC Women’s Ministry is an active group of ladies who love to spend time together, support each other and warmly welcome new women into our church. The Women’s Ministry Team hosts parties, GNOs and special events throughout the year. Our biggest annual event is the Fall Women’s Retreat, a three day time away focussed on learning, sharing and bonding.
This LMCC ministry encourages men to develop their faith, volunteers to help those in need, and gets together for fellowship several times each year, including an annual weekend retreat each summer.
Led by Dane Austin
The prayer team serves arguably the most important role in our church. Nothing happens without their support. They conduct prayer walks throughout the neighborhood, meet regularly to pray for the church itself and pray with individuals during the time of response at the close of each worship service.
This group has the privilege of being the first to welcome people to LMCC on Sunday mornings. They greet people as they arrive, help them find seats, and serve communion.
Sunday Program Ministry
This team ensures each person who comes to a worship service at LMCC has a quality experience. They load in and set up equipment and chairs, provide music and audio/visual support and tear it all down and load out at the end of the service.
Community Service Ministry
The Community Service team works with our partner organizations and other churches in the city to identify and coordinate volunteer opportunities so that our LMCC family members can be serving the greater community around us.
The Outreach Team hosts events open to the entire community, such as speaker series and pop up shops benefitting our partner organizations. They also connect with our neighbors through providing hot coffee on a cold day, handing out Christmas cookies or invitations to community events.
